Hoya dasyantha is a tropical vining plant native to Southeast Asia, prized for both its striking blooms and impressive foliage. Its thick, glossy green leaves can grow up to 15 cm long, adding a bold, tropical look to the plant. The flowers appear in clusters, typically star-shaped with pale yellow to orange petals and a reddish central crown, often releasing a pleasant fragrance in the evening. Hoya dasyantha is a popular choice for collectors due to its large leaves and showy, scented flowers.
Hoyas are a Plantsmith favourite due to their easy-going nature and diversity (not to mention some of the craziest names around). They are epiphytic plants, meaning they require a well-draining mix in a tighter pot to be happy; only repot in Spring when it is bursting out of its current pot. Find a warm, bright spot for these plants, keeping them indoors over the cooler months, especially in a colder climate. Keep soil on the dryer side over winter and moist in the warmer months.
Available in 13cm hanging plastic nursery pots.
We do our very best to photograph each new batch of plants that come in, taking care that the plant pictured here is an accurate representation of the current stock on hand. Please also note, as is the nature of living things, there may be some slight variation in leaf shape, placement etc, they are living plants after all!
We pride ourselves on the health and quality of our plants, hand picking them from a multitude of specialist growers across Victoria and NSW.
