Hoya australis is a vigorous climbing plant native to Australia, known for its smooth, glossy leaves and sweetly scented white flowers with a hint of pink. It naturally grows as a vine, making it ideal for training on supports or letting trail from hanging pots. This plant prefers bright, indirect light and minimal watering, making it a low-maintenance option for indoor gardeners. Its elegant foliage and occasional blooms add a touch of natural beauty to any space.
Hoyas are a Plantsmith favourite due to their easy-going nature and diversity (not to mention some of the craziest names around). They are epiphytic plants, meaning they require a well-draining mix in a tighter pot to be happy; only repot in spring when it is bursting out of its current pot. Find a warm, bright spot for these plants and keep soil on the dryer side during winter and moist during warmer months.
Available in 13cm plastic hanging nursery pots.
We do our very best to photograph each new batch of plants that come in, taking care that the plant pictured here is an accurate representation of the current stock on hand. Please also note, as is the nature of living things, there may be some slight variation in leaf shape, placement etc, they are living plants after all!
We pride ourselves on the health and quality of our plants, hand picking them from a multitude of specialist growers across Victoria and NSW.
