Hoya carnosa 'Compacta', also known as the 'Indian Rope Plant', is a unique and eye-catching variety with thick, twisted, and curled leaves that grow tightly along trailing vines. Its dense, rope-like appearance makes it a standout in hanging baskets or cascading over shelves. One of the hardiest species of Hoya, they are cold tolerant so can be grown outdoors in Melbourne in a protected position. When mature, it may produce clusters of fragrant, star-shaped pink flowers. Its sculptural form and low-maintenance care make it a favourite among collectors.
Hoyas are a Plantsmith favourite due to their easy-going nature and diversity (not to mention some of the craziest names around). They are epiphytic plants, meaning they require a well-draining mix in a tighter pot to be happy; only repot in mid spring when it is bursting out of its current pot. Keep soil on the dryer side during winter and moist through the warmer months.
Available in 13cm plastic hanging nursery pot with multiple mature stems.
We do our very best to photograph each new batch of plants that come in, taking care that the plant pictured here is an accurate representation of the current stock on hand. Please also note, as is the nature of living things, there may be some slight variation in leaf shape, placement etc, they are living plants after all!
We pride ourselves on the health and quality of our plants, hand picking them from a multitude of specialist growers across Victoria and NSW.
Our store is located in Preston, and delivery is available to Melbourne suburbs or contact us for Australia wide delivery.
