Hoya latifolia - 14cm pot

Hoya latifolia is an out of the ordinary species with large, thick disc shaped leaves that can reach up to 25cm across. These fleshy leaves have striking venation and may go slightly red when exposed to direct sunlight. These Hoyas can grow rapidly under ideal conditions and produce yellow green flowers. A must have got any indoor plant collection.

Wax plants are a Plantsmith favourite due to their easy-going nature and diversity (not to mention some of the craziest names around).

These are epiphytic houseplants, which means that they require a well-draining mix in a tighter pot to be happy; only repot in Spring when it is bursting out of its current pot. Find a warm, bright spot for these plants - and some morning sun can encourage flowering with some of the loveliest fragrances around.
